Jessica Traynor

Jessica Traynor’s debut poetry collection, Liffey Swim (Dedalus Press, 2014), was shortlisted for the Strong/Shine Award. In 2016, and was named one of the best poetry debuts of the past five years on Bustle.com. She’s currently under commission by Poetry Ireland, and has also received commissions from The Arts Council and The Salvage Press. Her second collection, The Quick, is forthcoming in Autumn 2018. Poems are forthcoming or have recently appeared in Magma, Banshee, Salamander, MetamorphicCopper Nickel, A Bittern Cry, Rochford Street Review, Acumen, Prelude, The Café Review, A Bittern Cry (Poetry Ireland), Hallelujah for Fifty Foot Women (Bloodaxe), and The Stinging Fly.  Awards include the Ireland Chair of Poetry Bursary, Hennessy New Irish Writer of the Year and the Listowel Poetry Prize. She teaches creative writing for the Irish Writers Centre, Big Smoke Writing Factory, and various festivals.
